The CARTI Searcy Auxiliary is dedicated to the care of cancer patients. Since it’s founding in 1988, the Auxiliary has provided thousands of volunteer hours to CARTI Searcy.
Auxiliary Activities
The Auxiliary sponsors a Luminary project each year. The Luminaries are put on display during the traditional lighting of the courthouse. Each luminary sold bears the name of a person or persons being honored or remembered by the purchaser. This holiday season fundraiser provides financial assistance to CARTI Searcy cancer patients, buying needed equipment and underwriting patient educational efforts. Hundreds of people participate in the Auxiliary’s Luminary project each year.
Meetings
The Auxiliary meets four times a year on the third Thursday of September, December, February and April.
Volunteer Opportunities
As a radiation therapy treatment facility, CARTI Searcy provides opportunities for volunteers who enjoy working with patients. Hosts and hostesses add a caring touch to the CARTI Searcy waiting room, serving coffee, distributing magazines and sharing a smile. These volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, filling morning and afternoon shifts scheduled weekly, biweekly or monthly. Volunteers may also choose to help with special projects as needed.
